The Nylons

Billboard Magazine has called The Nylons "one of the few groups to bring dominant vocal harmony to the American charts of the 1980's". With their hit "Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)" which went to #12 nationally in the US., they commented "... The Nylons launched into three minutes 23 seconds of possibly the most exciting, power-packed harmony and percussion of any record of the 80's.

Record sales of over 2 million copies, seven gold and six platinum recordings make The Nylons one of Canada's top international success stories. A Canadian icon, The Nylons are one of the most heralded vocal groups in the world.

Known for their great a cappella sound, dazzling harmonies and smooth, sophisticated arrangements, The Nylons' immense appeal has taken them across North America, Europe, Australia and Japan.

Claude Morrison began his musical career as a student at St. Michael's Choir School in Toronto studying voice, piano and drums. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and was later signed by the Famous People Players to do the Liberace Show in Las Vegas returning eventually to Toronto to continue his dance and acting studies. After doing the theatre circuit, Claude became an original founding member of The Nylons and the rest is "history".

Arnold Robinson formed his first band, "The Robinson Brothers", while he was attending university. From 1965 to 1972, he performed extensively throughout the southern states with "Sonny Turner and Sounds Unlimited" (formerly The Platters). Before joining The Nylons in 1981, Arnold formed his own business working in many aspects of the entertainment industry including management, recording and production.

Garth Mosbaugh, from Huntsville, Ontario, has been in the music business for decades and worked in composing, arranging, singing, playing (piano and keyboards), and recording. From 1980 to 1986, he sang and played piano in a jazz vocal trio called Genes with his siblings. He wrote music for various theatre projects and television programs, wrote and arranged a children's album and appeared as a regular host on the TVOntario series the Polka Dot Door.

Mark Cassius joined the group in September, 1997. Mark, born in Port-Of-Spain, Trinidad, and raised in Toronto, has performed across North America in numerous productions, including Cats, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (with Donny Osmond), and Miss Saigon.

Now eighteen years since their inception, with a brand new record deal, the revitalized Nylons are looking and sounding better than ever with their 11th album Fabric of Life on Sleeping Giant Records/Song Corp. The group's tight "blue eyed soul" sound is fueled by the talents of Grammy Award-winning songwriter/producer Ian Prince, Fabric of Life features some of the best grooves of the past decade including "I Can't Go For That" by Hall and Oats and George Michael's rhythm packed "Monkey", as well as a brilliant R&B treatment of the Beatles "Let It Be", Additionally, three songs were penned from within the group by Garth Mosbaugh and producer Ian Prince.

Having just released the most ambitious and exciting project of their career, The Nylons are ready to enter a new decade and prove once again why they are one of the most heralded vocal groups in the world.
